What to expect:
During this camp, we are focusing on craft and horticulture skills such as how to grow cut flowers, planting out, growing vegetables and botanical painting. Last camp we sowed many seeds and this time, children have the opportunity to learn about the next stages of growing your own food and flowers.
Within our craft projects, we will invite children to bring in a shirt, t-shirt or jacket to customise using illustrated embroidery. We will also be teaching some embroidery techniques to mend clothes with visible stitches. It feels important to teach handiwork in a time when so much is done digitally.
This camp will suit a child who wants to sit and focus on a project and learn practical techniques in a group setting. There will of course be time for imaginative, free play but we are keen to pass on some joyful life skills.
We will also be having some fun with our giant bubbles that we bring out in the summer month and we teach children how to make their own wands using foraged hazel poles.
Please do not hesitate to email beth@meadow.education if you have any questions. If you are struggling financially, please get in touch and we can offer a discount in some situations.
Lots of love,
Laura, Beth and all the team!
PS All our staff our DBS checked, there is always a trained First Aider on site and we adhere to all of Ofsted’s guidelines.
